Dessicated coconut (DC) or coconut flour is the result of processing coconut that is mashed by chopping or grating without adding other ingredients that are hygienically dried.

Desiccated Coconut is categorized into full fat (high fat) or reduced fat (low fat). “High Fat Desiccated Coconut” has a minimum of 60% fat, any lesser is a reduced fat Desiccated Coconut. Low Fat Desiccated Coconut is by product of coconut milk or coconut cream powder manufacturing process. It could be applied for baking, dessert, cooking, confectioneries and used as fillings, toppings and further processing in industrial use.
Low Fat Desiccated Coconut is the ingredient produced from fresh and mature coconut meat that has been de-shelled, pared, washed, ground, steam blanched, dried, sifted and packed hygienically.

Packing and Storage of Desiccated Coconut
Desiccated Coconuts are packed in multi-ply kraft paper bags with inner sealed polythene to keep away from the atmosphere’s moisture. Desiccated Coconuts are packed in 10 kg, 25 kg or 50 kg. Desiccated Coconuts shall be stored in cool and dry place. Avoid direct sunlight and strong odour.
